“We have taken the necessary steps”
The Hungarian government “has already taken the necessary steps” and is awaiting official clarifications from Twitter, Zoltan Kovacs said. He also criticized “this brave new world” in which big tech companies “can silence those who don’t.”
A spokesman for the Hungarian government also drew attention to the published today (30/09/2020) European Commission report on the rule of law, which expressed, inter alia, “serious concern” about the independence of the judiciary on Hungary and in Poland.
Why such a decision
The Hungarian government’s Twitter page says it has been blocked. Other official Twitter users on Hungary are still available and can use it.
Media companies such as Facebook i Twitter for some time now they have been intensively fighting against false or misleading information on their websites. Attention is focused especially on those that have something to do with the November presidential elections USA and the current election struggle in this country.
