Twitter Begins Sharing Advertising Revenue with Verified Content Producers

The company, the social networking platform, Twitter, has begun giving content producers with verified accounts a portion of the advertising revenue that appears with users’ responses to the posts of these creators.

Holders of verified paid Twitter Blue accounts benefit from the new policy, whose participation has achieved more than 5 million views per month during the past three months. According to US billionaire Elon Musk, owner of Twitter, the first batch of content producers will receive about $5 million in total dues accumulated since last February.

These funds will be transferred via the electronic payment service Strip. Writer Brian Krasensstein, who has about 750,000 followers on Twitter, says he earned $24,305, and creator SK, who has about 230,000 followers, earned $2,236 from Twitter. Political commentator Benny Johnson, who has 1.7 million followers, earned $9,546, according to TechCrunch, a technology website.

The amount Twitter pays to content creators is determined by the number of impressions or interactions with their posts.
