Instagram and Twitter have restricted the accounts of American rapper Kanye West, also known as “Yup”after posting comments denounced as anti-Semitic.
A Twitter spokesperson told AFP on Sunday that her account had been blocked due to a violation of the social network’s rules.
And a spokesperson for Meta, the parent company of Instagram, told AFP that the group had deleted content – without specifying which – from Ye’s account for violating its rules.
Even limited Instagram
Instagram has also restricted his account, which could result in preventing him from posting, writing comments or sending private messages, according to the same source.
Kanye West, who is black, has caused a stir on social media since he wore a t-shirt during the proclamation of Paris Fashion Week “” White Lives Matter “ (“White lives matter”in English).
This is a diversion from the famous slogan “Black Lives Matter” (“Black Lives Matter”), emblematic of the anti-racist demonstrations of summer 2020 in the United States, and a source of pride for the attention of the homonymous movement.
On Instagram, Ye, 45, posted screenshots of conversations with rapper Diddy on Friday, who criticized the shirt and his message.
“I’ll use you as an example to show the Jewish people who told you to call me that no one can threaten or influence me”, wrote Kanye West. The publication has been canceled but the copies are still visible on the Internet.
Attacks on Jews
Then on Twitter he said he would attack Jews in a post that was no longer accessible, the social network indicated that he had broken its rules.
The American Jewish Committee (AJC) accused Ye of promoting “hate for Jews”.
