Twitter account Wilders suspended because of this tweet: “Very strange”, says the PVV leader

Wilders says that Twitter has “temporarily limited” his account because of tweets he has sent. In particular, this concerns a tweet from Wilders addressed to Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

When asked, Geert Wilders lets us know which tweet is involved:

The tweet:

‘You know what hurts Prime Minister @CMShehbaz, is the violence of the intolerant ideology called Islam, the fatwa’s and death threats by people from #Pakistan, who are inspired by the fake prophet #Mohammad. We always choose freedom over Mohammedanism. And you’ll never win.’

Wilders: ‘Very strange’

Wilders reports that if he deletes certain tweets, he will get his account back within 12 hours. “Twitter first said that nothing was wrong as a result of a complaint,” Wilders said in a response to RTL Nieuws. “But a few hours later, suddenly it did. Very strange.”

That is why the PVV leader appealed to Twitter. His account will remain suspended until a ruling is made. It is unknown when that decision will be made. Wilders hoped it would be within two days, but says it is already taking longer.

Wilders’ last tweet was on Wednesday, April 20. Twitter could not be reached for comment at this time.
