Twitch under fire after “ridiculing Metallica”

The President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron challenged the duo of youtubers McFly and Carlito. A challenge that could turn into an absolutely incredible shoot.

Over the years, McFly and Carlito have become real pillars of French-speaking YouTube entertainment. The two friends have more than 6.24 million subscribers and we have already had the opportunity to tour with international stars. We can notably quote their anecdotes competition with David Guetta, or their meeting with Will Smith.

Nevertheless, the duo of YouTubers could well be on the verge of turning a corner. Indeed, the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, challenged them in person to make a very special video. If the latter is a great success, the president could well end up on McFly and Carlito’s channel.

A President of the Republic in a video of humorous YouTubers … this is not common!

Emmanuel Macron’s challenge

To organize this challenge, McFly and Carlito were first contacted by the Elysée’s digital communications manager. If the YouTubers initially believed in a hoax, they finally realized that this call was quite serious when their interlocutor shared live images of the forecourt of the Elysee.

Later, McFly and Carlito simply received a short video of the President of the Republic in person. Emmanuel Macron then offers the duo a task: publish a video to remind their audience of the importance of barrier gestures in the context of the health crisis.

In order to succeed in their challenge, YouTubers will have to collect more than 10 million views on their video. A significant task, but quite up to our duo. Indeed, forty of their videos have already passed this level.

The reward: an anecdotes competition with Emmanuel Macron

In the event that McFly and Carlito manage to complete this challenge, they will have the opportunity to make an absolutely outstanding video. Indeed, the President of the Republic has assured to be ready to open the doors of the Elysee to them so that they can shoot there.

The youtubeur duo then began to think about video concepts that could take place in this mythical place. They were simply stunned when the communications director informed them that an anecdote contest was possible.

Anecdote contests are one of the essential formats of the McFly and Carlito chain. They invite a celebrity and engage in a very simple game. In turn, the personality and McFly / Carlito must tell a story. Following this, the “opponents” must guess whether it is an actual anecdote or an invention.

Obviously, a big part of the program lies in learning amazing – and sometimes intimate – stories about very well-known personalities. Even Emmanuel Macron to lend himself to this little game would therefore be a real event on French-speaking YouTube.

McFly and Carlito take up the challenge

During their announcement video, McFly and Carlito specify that they hesitated for a long time before accepting this project. Indeed, they explain being well aware that this challenge proposed by Emmanuel Macron has a political interest for the president.

However, they chose to accept, specifying that they will have total artistic freedom to make their videos. Thus, the barrier gesture reminder video will be beautiful and well published. And if it exceeds 10 million views, then the doors of the Élysée will open for McFly and Carlito.

The duo has already specified that their video concerning the barrier gestures would be in the form of a song. In addition, all the money generated by the song will be donated to an association aimed at helping students in France.

The song on barrier gestures will be released on McFly and Carlito’s YouTube channel on February 21 … it remains to be seen whether it will reach the 10 million views needed to open the doors to the Élysée Palace and to the anecdotes competition with Emmanuel Macron.
