Twitch Tries “Charity” Feature, Help Streamers Collect Donations

KOMPAS.com – Platform streaming Twitch introduce new features named “Twitch” Charity” As the name implies, this feature will make it easier streamer and content creators to raise funds or donation.

With this feature, the streamer can collect, check, and send donations to agencies amal who want to donate, in one dashboard just.

As an illustration, streamer will be able to set or specify the amount of funds you want to donate, then start setting up fundraising in the “Creator Dashboard”.

Streamer just need to find or choose which charity you want to go to. Once you have decided on the charity, streamer can turn on “Charity” mode.

After the mode is turned on, streamer can already tap the “Donate to Charity” button. The button will also appear on the viewer’s screen, allowing them to contribute to making a donation/fundraising.

All incoming money can also be directly monitored and tracked by streamer through activity feeds. So that streamer can know whether the money collected has reached the target or not.

If the money collected is in accordance with the target set, the money will be processed through the Paypal Giving Fund partnership.

“All community donations go to our partners (namely) Paypal Giving Fund, and go to charities that you (streamers) recommend according to policy,” wrote Twitch on their official blog, Wednesday (19/7/2022).

Since this money is intended for donations to charities, Twitch will not deduct taxes or take any commission from the funds raised.

Paypal Giving Fund will also manage logistical issues, such as accurately preparing the flow of funds from donors to charities.
