Since its beginnings, Twitch and solidarity have gone hand in hand. Streamers and their communities have raised millions of dollars each year for charitable causes, and have had endless fun doing it. Whether it’s auctioning off retro games, dancing for twelve hours straight, or just staring at the wall, when it comes to charity our community always shows up.
“Therefore, in this Giving Tuesday, we are rallying our community to come together for the common good, hosting as many charity streams as possible. We’re challenging all streamers to host a charity stream anytime from November 28th to December 3rd. Choose any nonprofit you want to support using the Twitch or Tiltify charity tool, and include #TogetherForGood or #Charity in your tags or stream title for a chance to be featured on the Twitch homepage.”they say from the company.
And they add: “All week long, we’ll be hosting charity streamers to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, and we’re committed to matching community donations up to $100,000. We’ll also be featuring other amazing organizations like Movember, Games Done Quick, Cure Cancer’s Game On Cancer, Trans Lifeline and many more. Plus, there will be custom Alerts to help you celebrate when your community donates using Twitch’s charity tool.
Affiliates and partners can use the charity tool of Twitch to unlock a special offer for your community. Anyone who donates $5 or more through the tool will earn an exclusive chat badge that will be revealed soon. Follow Twitch on social media to stay up to date.
It will begin on Thanksgiving Tuesday, November 28, when the first streamers start streaming live and the Twitch Rivals OG Map charity showdown ft. Fortnite will be activated at 11:00 p.m. So keep an eye on your favorite creators, follow us on social media and let’s show off all the good we can do when we come together on Twitch.
