Twitch Changes User Agreement Regarding Restreaming to Other Platforms

Twitch has changed the terms of the site’s user agreement regarding restreaming to other platforms. This was noticed by a content maker under the nickname Lowco.

Previously, Twitch only restricted its affiliates and partners from parallel streaming on other streaming platforms like YouTube. Now, this rule has been moved to the general terms of service – it applies to all users of the service, regardless of whether they have a contract with Twitch. The restriction does not include broadcasts on mobile services like TikTok – streamers can still launch simultaneous broadcasts on these sites.

Earlier, Twitch announced a change in the rules for advertising for streamers. Content makers were banned from showing pre-recorded commercials and messages, limiting the size of banners to 3% of the total screen area, and tightened control over sponsored broadcasts.

Streamers were dissatisfied with the innovations. For example, Ilya Maddyson Davydov criticized the updated rules, and Asmongold offered to boycott Twitch and move to other platforms.
