Twitch Announces Increased Payments and Program Changes for Streamers

The platform has changed several payment programs for streamers, which will not in any way affect how they conduct their broadcasts

The Twitch service has made some changes to several of its programs at once, increasing the size of payments to streamers. As the site notes, the innovations are aimed at “creating a long-term and transparent streamer reward system that rewards creators who are serious about streaming”.

  • More streamers will have access to increased shares of net revenue from paid and gift subscriptions
  • There is now a flat rate for every country where Prime Gaming is available
  • The $100K threshold has been eliminated for streamers with a 70/30 revenue split

“Previously, after reaching $100 thousand in net subscription revenue per year, the revenue share from 70% returned to the standard 50%. We received clear feedback that the $100K threshold limited revenue and growth opportunities for the streamers it applied to and acted as a deterrent.”.

Starting May 1st, several changes to Twitch’s expanded affiliate program, launched in October 2023, will take effect:

  • Even affiliates will be able to access an expanded program, when previously only partners had this opportunity
  • The threshold for obtaining a 70/30 split of net income shares was reduced from 350 points to 300 points
  • A new level will be added to the program. If a streamer earns at least 100 points for three months in a row, he will receive the right to split the net income from paid and gift subscriptions to his channel in a 60/40 ratio
