Alfredo Antonio Trujillo was born at 11:45 p.m. on December 31. A quarter of an hour later, after the stroke of midnight, his sister Aylin Yolanda Trujillo joined him.
According to estimates cited by the Natividad Medical Center in Salinas where the infants were born, there is a one in two million chance that twins will be born in two different years.
“It seems crazy to me that they are twins while having different birth dates”said their mother, Fatima Madrigal.
“It was a great pleasure to help these little ones arrive healthily in 2021 and 2022”, reacted for his part Dr. Ana Abril Arias, for whom it will remain “a most memorable memory”.
According to health authorities, about 120,000 twins are born each year in the United States, or about 3% of total births.
