They became Internet stars.
Twin sisters Anne McQueen and Susan Briggs are similar in almost every way: they have the same interests, the same hobbies and – since they were babies – they have dressed the same.

It all started with their mother dressing them the same, and as soon as they learned to dress themselves, they decided to carefully continue the practice.

“We’ve just always been very similar,” said McQueen, 84. “We dressed the same throughout our childhood and into adulthood.”

Every time one of the sisters goes shopping for new clothes, she always buys two pieces.
Residents of Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, said that every time they get together somewhere, they call each other to coordinate outfits.
“It’s not to get attention, we just like the same clothes,” McQueen said.

They have been celebrated for their appearance since birth, but have recently found themselves in the spotlight on social media.
McQueen’s grandson, Mikey Metcalfe, began sharing videos of grandmas on TikTok earlier this year, with the first post receiving more than 17 million views.

McQueen’s home has a painting of the twin sisters as children, and they look a lot like the creepy Grady sisters featured in the 1980 horror film The Shining. The grandmothers decided to order costumes online and dress up like this last Halloween, even saying the iconic line from the strip: “Come and play with us.”
“We’re always doing something fun,” said Briggs, who lives alone. “It keeps us young.”

Few people will be able to tell twins apart. Their father, they said, had a hard time distinguishing between his daughters. The only noticeable physical difference is that McQueen has a small brown dot in her eye, while Briggs does not.
“We were camp counselors at one time, and no one could ever tell who their counselor was,” McQueen said.

Both sisters are retired health and physical education teachers. They taught in different schools and every year on April 1 they played pranks on their students.
“Susan came and started teaching my class,” McQueen recalled. “We’d be wearing matching costumes. The students would just scream. They couldn’t believe it.”
The twins, who have another sister nine years younger, talk on the phone at least five times a day and get together several times a week. They are both cat lovers, die-hard tourists, and watch the same TV shows.

The sisters say they rarely disagree, but when they do, “within 10 minutes they’re good friends again,” Briggs said. “We never go anywhere without telling others where we are. It’s always been that way.”
McQueen has four children, 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Briggs has four children and six grandchildren, all of whom live out of state. She said the presence of her sister’s family was “wonderful.”
The sisters believe they have what they call “dual telepathy” and say they often think and feel the same things.
“We have the same brain,” Briggs said.

The twins’ recent fame on social media has become another reason for their connection. Although it was a fun experience for them, their main goal is to be a source of joy to others.
“The world is in such a terrible situation, and this brought a little bit of happiness,” McQueen said. “We hope we can make a difference just by encouraging some people.”
