Twenty something with 13 kilos of cocaine arrested in Ixelles after the police chase

The driver bought eight sports bags at a department store on Nekkerspoelstraat, after which he continued his journey. The pursuit led the police to Ixelles, where the driver parked. “After a few minutes, a man with a sports bag came to the vehicle and left it behind. Right after that the car left again,” explained police spokesman Dirk Van de Sande.

When the suspicious vehicle stopped at a red traffic light, Rivierenland police zone officers decided to investigate. “Several blocks of cocaine were found in the sports bag, with a total weight of more than 13 kilograms,” says Van de Sande.

The suspect, a man of Albanian nationality, was arrested. On the orders of an investigating judge in Brussels, he was placed in pre-trial detention while the investigation continues.
