Twenty-six shows celebrate the return of the Val-d’Oise theatrical festival

Argenteuil, Cergy, Sarcelles, but also Saint-Gervais, Santeuil or Vétheuil… Val-d’Oise will live for six weeks to the rhythm of live performance, with the 38th edition of the Val-d’Oise theatrical festival. No less than twenty-six shows are scheduled for the return of the event, canceled last year due to the health crisis, and which will now take place every two years. This is now the highlight of the PIVO – Pôle Itinérant en Val-d’Oise – Theater in the territory, a structure created last May and labeled “art in the territory”, which wants to promote culture throughout the department.

The 2021 cuvée of this event founded by Alain Léonard, also at the origin of the off festival in Avignon, therefore offers pieces already programmed last year, but also some new products. “An enriched report”, in the words of the director, Véronique Lécullée.

“Moby Dick” is present this Tuesday November 9 in Goussainville then Saturday December 4 in Garges-Lès-Gonesse. Erika Hebbert

Among the works on the menu, several very visual proposals, such as the “Moby Dick” puppet show, presented this Tuesday in Goussainville, at the opening of the festival, and on December 4 in Garges-lès-Gonesse, or even “the necessary imbalance of things ”, proposed by the company the angels on the ceiling on December 15, in Taverny.

“We found the bulk of the public, but it’s still a little hesitant”

Several plays are also part of the real story theater, such as “the Quai de Ouistreham”, adaptation of the journalistic story by Florence Aubenas and scheduled for December 3 and 4 in Genainville then Bouffémont, “Part-Dieu chant de gare”, which follows the journey of a young refugee and which will be visible from December 1 to 3, in Cormeilles-en-Parisis, Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône or Eaubonne, or even the documentary theater “nourishing humanity Act II”, created from interviews with farmers and presented in five cities.

Others also offer new experiences by playing in the public square. Like “millefeuilles”, a spectacle to be seen with the family (from 6 years old) in no less than nine towns, and during which spectators, equipped with a flashlight, are invited to explore a space immersed in Twilight. “There are a lot of proposals and meanings, but also fantasy”, summarizes Véronique Lécullée.

A proposal which should seduce the public, deprived of the theater for many months. “A lot of people want to see shows, but the context is very complex,” blows the manager. We found the bulk of the public, but it’s still a little hesitant. “
