Twenty One Pilots played at Colors of Ostrava Co jste firemen

A feeling of euphoria was already caused by the opening of the festival. In addition to the traditional toasts and shooting of confetti, he was supported by the performance of Circus La Putyka.

High above the stage, acrobats performed their art, the resulting impression was not only visually impressive, but above all joyful.

The main stars of the Wednesday evening were the American Twenty One Pilots, who were supposed to play the role of headliners already in 2020. The fans waited patiently.

The organizers do not announce the number of visitors to the festival, but during the Pilots performance, the area with a capacity of 40,000 spectators was filled to about the same level as in times of sold-out years.

Backed by the chants of the fans, Twenty One Pilots lived up to expectations. The sound was complemented by stage musicians and electronics, but the main burden of mastering the show rested on the basic duo of “Pilots” and their commitment.

They also supported the symbolism of the songs visually. For example, by starting the concert in masks. The distraught singer Tyler Joseph did not hesitate to climb on the piano and jump off it.

In addition to their own hits, they convincingly performed Bernie And The Jets by Elton John or a mix of soul evergreens.

When Tyler announced that his great-great-grandmother came from the Czech Republic and the trumpeter played the theme of “What are the firemen?”, the enthusiasm knew no bounds.

On the artistic side, Colors was lit up by the Malian singer and virtuoso guitarist Fatoumata Diawara. Her songs have a strong social message, for example women’s rights.

At the same time, however, it is impossible to find a better description than euphoric for the captivating music, built on Afrobeat foundations interwoven with funk, rock and jazz equilibrism.

The only dilemma of Colors is actually the richness of the program. The Scottish Talisk also played excellently, and when the audience managed to finish their show after Fatoumata, they thought how great this performance must have been.

American indie rockers Modest Mouse also left a good impression.
