The president of the Government, Pedro Sanchez, has communicated to the regional presidents this Sunday the Government’s intention to eliminate the time slots to carry out certain activities in the population centers of up to 10,000 inhabitants, as it has been happening in those who have 5,000 or less.
This measure would benefit, according to the data of the registry as of January 1, 2019, twenty Canarian municipalities: eight from the province of Las Palmas and twelve from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which have more than 5,000 inhabitants and less than 10,000.
The towns of the eastern province that would be added in this way to those that already enjoyed the absence of time slots to walk or play sports would be: Agaete (5,586 inhabitants); The Village of San Nicolás (7,504); Firgas (7,455); Haria (5,123); Moya (7,696); Tinajo (6,279); Valsequillo (9,340) and San Mateo (7,556).
Along with them, the following municipalities in the western province could also see these restrictions on mobility eliminated: Arafo (5,551 inhabitants); Arico (7,988); Breña Alta and Breña Baja (7,204 and 5,690); La Guancha (5,520); The Acentejo Massacre (9,061); El Paso (7,622); San Sebastián de La Gomera (9,093); El Sauzal (8,934); Valverde (5,005) and La Victoria (9,185).
The establishment of time slots to carry out activities came into force on May 2 in order to regulate certain activities such as the outings of children, adults and athletes throughout the territory, with the exception of municipalities with less than 5,000 inhabitants.
