A police patrol noticed the man around midnight on Friday night when he walked across the Oude Markt without a mouth mask. When the officers asked him about this, he refused to cooperate.
“He didn’t keep the necessary social distancing and challenged the police, ”said the prosecutor’s office. “The man was arrested and taken to the police station, where he continued to be threatening and defiant. He refused to cooperate with the necessary actions in the police cell and eventually gave a headbutt to one of the officers. ”
That agent had to go to hospital for treatment and was declared unfit for work for 7 days, according to the public prosecutor. The twenties was brought before the investigating judge on suspicion of recalcitrance, assault and battery on a cop, threats and violations of the corona measures. He was released by the investigating judge under conditions.
