The Public Prosecution Service demanded five years in prison and a fine of more than 6000 euros against co-defendant Ashween Angnoe, it emerged on Tuesday during the court hearing in Paramaribo. Angnoe and Van Trikt were colleagues at previous employers for a long time.
In the statement of the public prosecutor, the name of former finance minister Gillmore Hoefdraad appeared regularly. The Public Prosecution Service sees him as a co-defendant in the case of Van Trikt and Agno. Hoefdraad, who is still a fugitive, was sentenced to twelve years in prison in February. He is charged with corruption, money laundering and violation of the banking law.
