A project that has been negotiated behind the scenes for several months between the biggest clubs on the continent. UEFA, which was to announce the new reform of the Champions League on Monday, finds itself ahead. The body has opened a crisis unit in recent hours.

For the moment, this first version of Superleague, which we do not yet know for when the first edition would be scheduled, would not include any French or German club. Paris-Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich, finalists of the last edition of the Champions League, would therefore be absent. Both clubs would like to stay close to UEFA positions for the time being.
This European Superleague would come to materialize a closed league project which has been rumored for several years now. The idea is to offer a certain number of clubs guaranteed participation in each edition.
