On social media, Bartłomiej Bublewicz criticized, among other things, the vote by Polish People’s Party MPs on the decriminalization of abortion. “There is no place for PSL in the ruling coalition. If I were the prime minister, I would even risk early elections,” he wrote on the X platform.
On another occasion, the journalist referred to the case of the former deputy minister of justice, MP of Sovereign Poland Marcin Romanowski. He then attacked the prosecutor’s office, headed by Adam Bodnar. “Compromise is an understatement. Unprepared prosecutor’s office, credibility of actions at zero level. The court’s decision shows how important the separation of powers is and should be for the entire political class,” he stated.
Reporter suspended for posts about government
The Press.pl website reported that the management of TVP decided to suspend Bartłomiej Bublewicz. According to the Polish Television Ethics Commission, the “Panorama” reporter violated “the ethical principles in force in the company”. This refers to the provisions that “a journalist cannot do anything that could threaten the interests, good name, credibility, independence and impartiality of public television and his professional mission”. Bublewicz has already removed the entries from the web. In a conversation with members of the TVP Ethics Commission, he admitted that “such entries should not appear on the profile of a news journalist” and apologized for his “mistake”.
TVP does not want to comment on the matter. In turn, Bartłomiej Bublewicz wrote on Thursday in response to a Press.pl text message: “As a rule, I do not comment on internal matters. Besides, I am on vacation until the end of the week, so please forgive me.” The journalist joined the “Panorama” team at the beginning of 2024, having previously worked at Onet.
“Panorama” disappears from TVP2
Until December 19 last year, “Panorama” was broadcast daily at 6:00 PM on TVP2. After the forceful takeover of public media, the most important news services of Telewizja Polska were not broadcast for several days. “Panorama” returned to the air on January 10. The new head and one of the hosts of the program was Jarosław Kulczycki, who returned to public television after eight years. The news service is broadcast at variable times after 10:00 PM, lasts 25 minutes and is shown simultaneously on TVP2 and TVP Info.
According to the latest reports, Telewizja Polska will stop broadcasting “Panorama” on TVP2. From the beginning of September, the program will be broadcast only on TVP Info and will gain a permanent slot – at 22:00. The service will be 15 minutes longer and will be enriched with economic information.
