The cast of one of Taiwan’s classic situational dramas “Hong Kong 81” has been away from the screen for many years. Leung Po-ching, who plays “Sister Shun”, returned from Canada to Hong Kong for a family occasion and attended the celebration. And Yan Guoliang, who played the merchant Chen Ji in the same play, also appeared after leaving the nest for more than ten years. That night, Yan Guoliang talked about the degree of intrusion into Chen Ji’s home at the time, so many people didn’t know his surname Yan! Several viewers felt that Yan Guoliang’s voice had changed, after the show he explained in an interview that he suffered from squamous cell carcinoma of the vocal cords, which made him unable to make a low tone, and is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
Yan Guoliang joined TVB in 1981. Before that, he worked as an announcer and auxiliary policeman for Hong Kong and Taiwan. Yan Guoliang turned into an actor because when he was eating with Pan Zhiwen, a classmate in the broadcast class, Pan, who was already a popular young student, was struggling for money, and he said “it’s much easier for me make money of you”! So Yan Guoliang started with a special contract, then signed a contract for the appreciation of TVB’s behind-the-scenes personnel, and joined “Hong Kong 81”. “Scent” ended after 6 years of filming. Yan Guoliang moved to join “Happy Tonight” and starred in the long-running drama “Season”. In the comedy, he played the classic Big Dee (Tang Jiawei).
Subsequently, Yan Guoliang starred in many dramas, including ‘True Love’, ‘As You Like It’ and ‘Moonlight on the Fifth of October’. In 2008, Yan Guoliang was told behind the scenes that he would not renew his contract due to the arrangement of the show. In addition, due to the improper arrangement of the announcement, Yan Guoliang decided to leave the nest, change his career as Tai Chi teacher, and I live in the north. Yan Guoliang mentioned in Deng Yingmin’s online program that she drank heavily for a while, and later developed “hematuria”. She thought she had cancer, but luckily nothing happened after that!
