King’s path or Kungsleden is a hiking trail in Sweden, located a few hundred kilometers beyond the Arctic Circle. It is the place where eight public figures embarked on a 120 km long, challenging trek last September. From February 3, you will have the opportunity to follow the expedition in the program “Outside the Zone: The Arctic Circle”, which will be shown on TV3 on Saturday evenings at 7:20 p.m.
Several months after the hike, the participants have mixed emotions.
“It’s been a stressful few months since September, waiting for this show,” says Roy Rogers.
The other participants of the hike also agree – it is worrying to wait how the experience will look on the television screens.
When asked about the brightest and most difficult moments, the participants say that they remember the views of nature, but also experienced several physically and emotionally difficult moments.
The trek lasted six days, of which five nights were spent in tents. The members of the expedition had no contact with the outside world or inhabited territory along the way, the only way out in case of an emergency is a rescue helicopter.
In the summer of 2022, presenter Kristīne Garklāva already covered this distance and admits that it was one of the most difficult in her experience, both physically and mentally. The full length of the King’s Trail is 400 km, but the expedition members went along the northern section of the trail from the village of Abisko to Nikkaluokta, covering about 120 km.
Baiba Sipeniece-Gavare, Kaspars Breidaks, Prusax, Tomas Pildegović, Roy Rogers, Buuu and Kristaps Zvejnieks went on the expedition together with Kristini.

During the hike, all participants will be faced with challenges, most of which are not related to the King’s Trail itself – reflection, knowledge and acceptance of the situation, living with oneself.
