Vienna (OTS) – In 1966, the life of perhaps the most dazzling Mafia bride in the USA of the 40s and 50s ends under mysterious circumstances on a forest path near Salzburg. The beautiful Virginia Hill (Verena Altenberger) from Lipscomp / Alabama, former lover of famous mafia bosses like Bugsy Siegel or Lucky Luciano, jet set girl of the darkest figures in organized crime, drug courier and seductress, is caught up with her past in her second life in Salzburg . She leaves behind her husband, the then Austrian ski star Hans Hauser (Michael Dangl), and a son. Virginia is 50 years old.
The documentary “Virginia – The unsolved riddle of the Salzburg Mafia Bride”, funded by the FERNSEHFONDS AUSTRIA and realized by the Salzburger 2010 Entertainment-Filmproduktion, tells the fascinating story of an almost unbelievable life beyond social norms that one day crosses the path of the then most famous Austrian skier. It ends tragically for both of them. How exactly is shrouded in mystery. The documentary investigates the riddle.
