White received eight Emmy Awards during his career, which ran from 1939 to 2019.
She was praised not least for her work in the commissions “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “The Golden Girls”. The latter also went on Norwegian TV with the title «Panther aunts».
Both series ran for seven seasons, the first from 1970 to 1977, the second from 1985 to 1992.
“Even though Betty was about to turn 100, I thought she would live forever,” her agent Jeff Witjas told People magazine.
