Kozhikode: The Kozhikode CJM court has remanded DYFI national president PA Mohammad Riaz and TV Rajesh MLA for two weeks. The action was taken in a case related to the Kozhikode Air India office march in 2010. The DYFI’s agitation against the increase in air fares and cuts in air services was violent.
Police have registered a case against the then DYFI state secretary TV Rajesh, who inaugurated the march, and DYFI district office bearers Mohammad Riaz and KK Dineshan, who led the march. Defendants in the case had been granted bail but the High Court had yesterday canceled their bail as they did not appear in court continuously. The High Court had directed him to appear in the trial court and seek bail. However, the trial court rejected their bail application and remanded them.
