Despite Juventus defeated Genoa 2-0 at home on Sunday night after a dominant effort, it was something else that stole the headlines: a quarrel between Juventus striker Alvaro Morata and coach Massimiliano Allegri.
Morata had missed several big chances and when he was replaced in the 72nd minute for Moise Kean, Morata got an insult from Allegri. The Spaniard responded by pulling an ointment back to Allegri before leaving and making sure he had the last word.
Unnecessary behavior, says C More expert Astrit Ajdarevic.
– It’s so unnecessary of Morata. Okay if Allegri was a coach who did not believe in him and did not like him, but he believes in him and gives him a chance at a chance. But it is Morata who does not take the chances. He does not give back to Allegri. He does not score, he does not assist, he is not good in the game. He is clumsy in his way of handling the ball sometimes, he does not play the ball when he should, says Ajdarevic in Football Sunday Europe and continues:
– Incredibly stupid done by Morata. I would have understood him better if he came in every tenth match and was replaced early. But now he gets match after match and does not bring anything to Juventus. Then you can not do this.
Afterwards, Allegri explained the choice to replace Morata.
– He was warned, he continued to fuss and I preferred to replace him. It is disappointing, because Alvaro had played well just like the whole team, says Allegri according to Football-Italia.
Juventus are fifth in Serie A after the victory.
