TV program. Insane apartments in New York to see in “Exclusive investigation”

Decades after decades and even century after century, New York never ceases to fascinate. “Capital of the world”, “the city that never sleeps”… there is no shortage of superlatives to describe the Big Apple. It is also the richest city in the world with 105 billionaires among its 8.4 million inhabitants, a record.

With such a clientele, New York real estate prices continue to climb. For “Exclusive Investigation”, the reporter Lætitia Kretz visited one of these luxury apartments in the company of Michel, a French real estate agent specializing in this very selective market.

10,000 euros monthly charges

Together, they visited an apartment with a sublime view of the city’s emblematic skyscrapers. Sale price: 15.9 million dollars (15.7 million euros), or 63,000 euros per square meter, to which must be added more than 10,000 dollars (9,800 euros) of monthly charges.

For Michel, this price is justified because the apartment overlooks High Line Park, a 2 kilometer long urban park laid out on a disused portion of the old overhead railway lines. Nicknamed “the line of billionaires”, this garden inspired by the Parisian Coulée Verte is lined with buildings displaying prices of around tens of millions of euros.

150,000 euros per square meter

And again, it’s nothing compared to the Central Park Tower, located at 217 West 57th Street on the edge of the famous New York park. In addition to holding the record for the tallest residential tower in the world, this construction has become the most expensive building in Manhattan with a price per square meter which has now reached 150,000 euros. Something to make you dizzy…

New York: the incredible rebirth of the Big Apple”, a documentary by Lætitia Kretz (LF Prod) for “Enquête Exclusive”, this Sunday July 10 at 11:05 p.m. on M6.
