TV Nova Launches Czech Version of Hell’s Kitchen: What to Expect and Who to Watch

For a long time, Czech television stations kept doing the same thing and were afraid of any innovations. After all, it worked and people only had to present detective stories, endless series or foreign films. But with the arrival of various streaming platforms and other TV stations, the competition has really intensified.

It could have come earlier

That means only one thing. Even traditional television has to venture into uncharted waters and try novel formats that have never been here before. TV Nova is now embarking on one of these. It could have done it a number of years ago, as it is a tried-and-tested foreign concept. However, it is only launching now, with huge audience interest expected.

It is nothing less than the domestic version of the reality show Hell’s Kitchen, in the Czech version of Hell’s Kitchen. She should replace the tried and tested MasterChef for a while, who has, after all, only looked around a bit and the audience is not as curious about him as before.

It is a format that is very well-proven abroad and is associated with the name of the famous chef Gordon Ramsey. He does not take any napkins with the contestants and does not go far for a sharp word. In the Czech version, he will be represented by Radek Kašpárek, although many called for Zdeněk Pohlreich to return to the event, who is more eloquent and has excellent speeches.

It’s going to be a big show

Competitors are currently being recruited, who should already be professional chefs or people who have a long-term interest in gastronomy and know something about it. It’s going to be much more of a reality show where the contestants won’t be connected to the world for the whole month it’s going on. At the same time, everything will be filmed, then edited and then presented to the audience.

The winner should take home 2.5 million crowns, which is not a staggering amount these days. It used to be possible to win significantly more in television competitions, and now we are after a serious inflation. Today, however, it is primarily about visibility, which the contestants can then monetize using their social networks.

Given the popularity of various cooking competitions in the Czech Republic, which traditionally have record-breaking viewership, a huge success can be expected in this case. Few other shows worked better abroad than Hell’s Kitchen.
