TV: Moved Paulsen after the last Bajen match: “Very emotional

Recently, Bjørn Paulsen has been rumored to be on his way away from Hammarby. The Dane has been linked with a move to Odense, and after the match against IFK Gothenburg, he was thanked before the move goes to the Danish club. The transition is now official.

When Paulsen was substituted in the 86th minute against IFK Gothenburg on Monday night, he was hugged by several Bajen players, and after the match he was thanked on the inside by the supporters.

The 31-year-old talks about his feelings when he now leaves Bajen for the second time.

– I knew it was my last match in Hammarby, so I gave everything I had. I think you could see on the pitch that I still have the quality to play. That is the ambition, and that is why we have agreed to go their separate ways, Paulsen says to Fotbollskanalen.

Describe your feelings during the match?

– It was more emotional before, during the match I was just focused. But now (afterwards) it’s a little different, it’s very emotional. Especially with the fans. Yes, it’s an emotional day.

What memories do you take with you from here?

– Only good memories, both the first and second stay I was here. Very good year, fantastic supporters and everything with the club is fantastic. I wish it all the best in the future.

Any memory that stands out?

– The arena is something special with all supporters. Of course, it’s… it’s just amazing to be here. All three years have been fantastic.

Bjørn Paulsen represented Hammarby between 2017-2019. Last summer he returned to green and white, but now – a year later – he is ready for Odense.

The Dane tells why he wanted to move.

– We agreed that I would not sit on the bench, I have more ambitions than that and Hammarby is on a good path. We play different football now is the last time I was here. So it was a good opportunity to agree to find something else for me, he says.

Hammarby has recently finished with Pavle Vagic, Shaquille Pinas and Nathaniel Adjei. Three players who had been direct competitors to Bjørn Paulsen.
