Samantha Skogrand (33) and Emil Hegle Svendsen (37) are separating after ten years as a couple.
Skogrand, breakfast host on P4, and biathlete Hegle Svendsen confirm the break-up in a joint post on Instagram.
– After ten wonderful years together, we have decided not to be a couple anymore, they write.
– We look back on the years with each other exclusively with love and gratitude. We are most grateful for our two young children, whom we love and value more than anything else. We are and will continue to be a close-knit family, who want to share big and small moments with our children. We have spent the last six months creating a new everyday life together, she continues.
She emphasizes that they are still very fond of each other.
VG has not succeeded in getting a comment from Skogrand or Hegle Svendsen.
Skogrand and biathlete Emil Hegle Svendsen got engaged before Christmas in 2016. Later that year they bought a home together.
They have two children together, a son aged four and a daughter aged almost two.
“Sports-Norway’s hottest flirt”, VG wrote in January 2014, when it became known that the two were lovers. At the time, Skogrand was working as a sports anchor on TV 2, while Hegle Svendsen was getting ready for the Olympics in Sochi.
The couple later revealed that they met on the dating app Tinder.
However, the wedding has been postponed a number of times, due to work and the pandemic.
Hegle Svendsen retired as a top athlete in 2018. He has since been a biathlon commentator on NRK and has been studying.
