TV: England ready for semi-final

According to the statistics companies, England are favorites to win this summer’s European Championships. On Saturday, the quarterfinals awaited, with Ukraine facing the opposition.

When the elves were presented, it was clear that Jadon Sancho, who previously only played a few minutes in the tournament, would get the chance from the start of national team captain Gareth Southgate.

The second change that Southgate made to the previous fight against Germany was to bring Chelsea’s Mason Mount into the eleven.

As for Ukraine, the national team captain Andrei Shevchenko chose to make a change in the eleven from the quarterfinals against Sweden, when Vitaly Mykolenko came in from the start against Taras Stepanenko.

With Jadon Sancho involved in the eleven, it was England who scored the first goal. Already in the fourth minute, Harry Kane gave his England a dream start after sending the ball in behind the Ukrainian goalkeeper. The performance was by Raheem Sterling.

After that, no more goals came during the first half.

If the English team got a dream start on the first act, they started the second at least as well. Just after the break, Manchester United defender Harry Maguire was able to nod in 2-0. But England was not content there.

Shortly afterwards, the next hit came. Luke Shaw played Harry Kane, who, like Maguire, knocked the ball into goal.

Despite the nation leading 3-0, the English did not slow down, but continued to send in goals. With a little more than an hour played, Jordan Henderson nodded in 4-0. The goal, which was Henderson’s first in the national team, was the last of the match.

Thus, England is on to the semifinals, where they meet Denmark on Wednesday.

– A good performance and a good evening. To perform as we did that way, with another zero held … A good day for English football, says Harry Kane to Uefa after the match.

He continues:

– I have said it a lot before, it’s about doing the best at the right times, doing the best when it’s knockout matches. I feel good.

– It is of course nice to score some goals. But the most important thing is to win the match. Let’s continue like this.

In the second semifinal, Italy plays Spain. That match will be played on Tuesday. Both battles take place at Wembley in London, just like the final.
