Tuxedo Computers has announced the InfinityFlex 14 Gen 1. This 3-in-1 laptop comes standard with Linux and can also act as a tablet or touch screen on its own. The basic configuration costs 1209 euros and is expected at the end of September.
For this amount, users can start with a 14-inch touch screen, which combines a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels with a 60Hz refresh rate. Under the hood is an Intel Core i5-1335U with 10 cores and 12 threads. Tuxedo does not provide a separate GPU. The processor is paired with 16GB of RAM and 500GB of storage on an NVMe PCI-e 3.0 SSD.
Of InfinityFlex 14 measures 316x20x229 mm and weighs 1.5 kg including the 55Wh battery. Connection consists of HDMI 2.0, USB-A, followed by Thunderbolt 4 and USB-C with up to 100W of power. A 3.5mm combo jack and a microSD card reader are also included. In terms of wireless connectivity, WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 are supported. There is also a 2MP webcam with full HD resolution and a privacy switch. This can turn off the power to the webcam and microphone.
The laptop comes standard with Tuxedo OS, which is based on Ubuntu with the KDE Plasma desktop environment. The company also offers the option to install other operating systems such as Ubuntu, Kubuntu and Windows 11.
According to the Tuxedo website, the necessary parts will be in stock from September 16. The manufacturer promises to collect orders within two weeks if in stock.
