Tuukka Rask back soon?

The Providence Bruins released goaltender Tuukka Rask from his professional American League tryout on Tuesday, paving the way for his return to the National Hockey League (NHL).

It’s an open secret that the 34-year-old will be back with the Boston Bruins soon. The “Bears” plan, however, was to allow Rask to play a few games with their school club before joining them to continue the 2021-2022 season.

The Finn was supposed to get starts last Friday and Sunday, but the scheduled clashes against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms collapsed due to COVID-19.

Rask played his entire professional North American career with the Bruins, who totaled 560 NHL games between 2008 and 2021. A free agent at the end of the last campaign, he did not sign a new contract with a Bettman Circuit formation and had surgery to fix a problem with his right hip.

Over the past few weeks, the masked man has trained a few times with the Bruins players.
