TuS Vinnhorst eV from 1956

At the end of a crazy gymnastics year due to the corona crisis, TuS Vinnhorst can still report a success. We have succeeded in winning the two German top gymnasts Lukas Dauser and Nils Dunkel for the Bundesliga team of TuS Vinnhorst.

Team manager Steffen Rüter is delighted: “I am very happy and also a little proud that our overall package convinced the two gymnasts. We have built up our team step by step over many years. We continue to rely on a young team, which we can now optimally strengthen with two experienced top performers. I am pleased that we can offer great framework conditions for our gymnasts together with our sponsor ZAG. “

The 1st chairman of TuS Vinnhorst, Uwe Jankowski, also sees reason to be happy: “Lukas and Nils strengthen our already great team in the 1st Turn-Bundesliga. Together with the imminent opening of our new sports center with the competition hall that can hold around 800 spectators and the gymnastics center, we are taking another big step with these new additions. We are really looking forward to the coming season. “

The long-term commitment of ZAG and the plans of TuS Vinnhorst make it possible to equip both gymnasts with a two-year contract.

Dauser is moving from the TG Saar to Vinnhorst, with whom he actually would have gymnastics in the final of the German championship this year, but the hosting of the final was canceled. Dunkel was part of the KTV Straubenhardt team for six years, won the title four times and should have been fighting for third place in the small final this year, but this competition also fell victim to the corona lockdown.

The multiple German champion Lukas Dauser (born 1993) has already won numerous medals internationally. In 2015 he won gold on bars at the World Cup in Sao Paulo, and in 2017 he became vice European champion on his special device. At the World Championships in Doha in 2018 and in Stuttgart in 2019, he was in the bar finals. In 2016 he finished seventh with the team in the Olympic final and for 2021, in addition to the 1st Bundesliga, he is of course preparing for the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Nils Dunkel (born 1997) is two-time German champion on the pommel horse and celebrated his greatest international success at the 2018 European Championships in Glasgow, where he finished fourth on parallel bars and with the team.
The fact that the two are by no means pure equipment specialists is shown by Dauser’s all-around title at the German Championships in Berlin in 2017 and the fact that Dauser and Dunkel took second and third place in the all-around event in the last squad qualification on November 28, 2020 in Kienbaum. Both belong to the provisional Olympic squad 2021 – together with their new team captain Mika Säfken, who will continue to lead the Vinnhorster Turner through the season.
