Entrepreneur Amir Saad from Weesp has managed to double his turnover in 3 years since he joined the franchise formula New York Pizza. In 2011, Amir opened his own pizzeria under the name Mona Lisa in Weesp. In 2018 he decided to continue as an entrepreneur of the franchise formula New York Pizza.
Pizzeria Mona Lisa was well known in Weesp and yet entrepreneur Amir wanted to get more out of his entrepreneurship. After a number of conversations with New York Pizza, he decided to join the national chain.
Advantages of a franchise formula
“New York Pizza is a nationally known brand and that brings many advantages. Ordering and operational processes are tightly regulated, which has saved me a lot of time and money,” says Amir.
The biggest advantage of the collaboration with New York Pizza is the national marketing and reputation. Amir has reached a new and much larger target group.

An enthusiastic team of local employees works at the location to get the tastiest pizzas on their customers’ plates. Amir now knows that things are going well, even if he is not present. The management information that he gets from the cash register system is very valuable in order to be able to steer towards even better results. In addition, Amir has very regular contact with his consultant from New York Pizza. This helps him with questions, keeps him sharp and ensures that he always strives for better results, according to Amir.
Converting Mona Lisa
Amir also praises the guidance he received in converting his restaurant Mona Lisa to New York Pizza: “After a number of good conversations at the New York Pizza headquarters, I handed over the key to my restaurant. Two months later I opened the doors of my New York Pizza in Weesp. A dream come true.”
Amir now has double turnover compared to three years ago and looks back on the past few years with pride. “The choice was difficult, but I am very happy that I took this step. I have grown as an entrepreneur and as a person. Who knows, maybe I’ll open a New York Pizza branch soon,” Amir concludes with a laugh.
