Turning off this feature can make the iPhone battery last longer

Selular.ID – This year’s iPhone 13 series and iPhone 13 Pro Max have excellent battery life, despite carrying a 120Hz refresh rate on the “Pro” variant and 5G connectivity on all four models. The 4352mAh capacity on the iPhone 13 Pro Max is the largest ever found on any iPhone.

Regardless of the iPhone model they have, users can increase the battery life on the device by following a simple set of instructions posted by TikToker called “kadama” which has 1.9 million followers.

The so-called “hack/hack” picked up by the New York Post and the conservative New York tabloid explained that apps can eat up some of the iPhone’s battery life even if the user doesn’t use certain apps throughout the day.

The best way to prevent background running apps from draining iPhone battery is to go to Settings > General > Refresh Background Apps and turn the feature off.

Then, go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health > Enable Optimized Battery Charging.

Kadama says that after following these instructions, “Now your battery will last longer.”

This is something of a tradeoff. Although the battery life will increase, the app will not update in the background when the user disables Background App Refresh.

This means that updates that apps normally perform in the background, whether it’s sports scores, stock market prices, or recent temperatures, won’t be updated until the user opens the app and updates the app accordingly. In other words, if a user opens a sports app, he may not see the latest scores right away.

Other suggestions from “kadama” to save iPhone battery include going to Settings > Accessibility > Gestures > Turn off Auto-Play Message Effects and Auto-Play Video Previews.

When disabled, the former will not allow full screen effects in Messages app to autoplay and it will turn off video preview autoplay.

If you feel like apps don’t need updating in the background, or don’t care if the full screen effect autoplays in the Messages app, you may be able to significantly improve iPhone battery life by turning off these features.
