Stuttgart – For many – and especially for Swabians – it is a clear argument in favor of the car: “If I’ve already paid for it, then I’ll use it too.” Despite the costs of purchase, insurance, repairs and fuel, most drive shorter distances felt free of charge. According to the will of Transport Minister Winfried Hermann (Greens), the same should also apply to local public transport in the future. On the one hand, people are supposed to pay a compulsory levy, on the other hand, they receive a credit to use on buses and trains.
