Turn: Three sailors from Vera Su want to leave the ship

The International Federation of Transport Workers will check the condition of the crew

Three of the crew of the ship stranded in the sea near Kamen Bryag have wished to go ashore, reported for New TV from the Ministry of Transport. To do so, however, the shipowner must send three more in their place to fill the 9-member crew. It is not yet clear how and when this can be done.

Meanwhile, the International Federation of Transport Workers has received a signal from workers on the Vera Su ship for unpaid wages. For this reason, a representative of the organization, accompanied by an employee of the Executive Agency “Maritime Administration”, will board and inspect the condition of the crew.

A representative of the salvage company hired by the shipowner is expected to arrive in Varna to tow the vessel. He will coordinate with the Bulgarian authorities the plan for the fate of “Vera Su” from now on. He will also have to board for inspection.

At the moment, the ship “Vera Su” is fortified with anchors and chains. There are also diving tours with video recording, which will be analyzed. The last fuel has been drained, in addition to the required minimum. The transhipment of 3300 tonnes of nitrogen fertilizer cannot start at this stage. Specialized barges are expected in Varna on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the weather forecasts are for high waves and strong winds in the coming days, which further raises questions about the start of the operation.

And tonight, by order of the mayor of the municipality of Kavarna, the partial state of emergency, announced due to the shipwreck “Vera Su”, was extended, the District Administration announced.
