Turmoil and Uncertainty: The Future of Citron Rock Band Hangs in the Balance

When the legendary rocker Radim Pařízek left us forever two years ago, it was not certain what would happen to his band Citron. Of course, they decided to continue, but as they themselves admitted on Facebook, they are once again in trouble, mainly due to disagreements with the singer Ladislav Křížek. The future of the successful band is once again in the stars.

The legendary rock band Citron experienced a huge loss when rocker Radim Pařízek died. Nevertheless, they decided to keep the band together, and bassist Radim Parízek Jr. took over the role of frontman. As he now admitted on Facebook in the official opinion, there are constant conflicts within the band, especially with singer Láďa Křížek.

He allegedly announced several times after the death of Radim Pařížek that he would leave the band, and the other members had to respect his demands in order for him to remain. Pářízek Jr. tried to meet him under all circumstances and continue to play. “I have always complied with all his requests. The first time this happened was a month after dad’s passing, when we agreed that we wanted to carry on his legacy,” recalls the bassist.

Křížek talks about the end of the band

The tension escalated, and after some time Křížek came up with the fact that he refuses to cooperate with a large part of the Citron team. They could not rely on the singer and were worried whether he would even arrive at the scheduled concerts. So they had to start discussions about what will happen to them next: It was not possible to further develop the band’s activities, so I suggested that we discuss our future. Dwe agreed to continue on, even with partially set rules,” Paris admits. Láďa Křížek also agreed with the fact that they will continue to play.

He surprised the other members all the more with an interview for lightningin which he spoke openly about the definitive end of the band. “Radim Pařízek is currently going through a difficult period of divorce and simply cannot keep up with the band anymore. That’s why our PR manager announced to all of us that the whole band will end…” Křížek let himself be heard. However, the rest of the band are in denial about the end and plan to continue on: “If Láďa decides to quit, it will be his choice. If it can be done with dignity, Citron will move on.” Parízek assures his fans.
