Turmalina Metals Corp. reported that the latest well drilled under the 2020 program at the San Francisco project (San Juan province) has yielded multiple intercepts of high-grade copper, gold and silver mineralization below all previous drilling. in the San Francisco de Los Andes breccia pipeline (“SFdLA”), doubling the known depth of the heavily mineralized system.
The SFDH-039 well (“Well 39”) was intended to test the continuation of the breccia pipe at more than 450 meters depth, intercepting the following mineralized intervals from the bottom of the hole:
• 86 meters grading 0.47% copper, 1.8 g / t gold and 67 g / t silver (3.4 g / t gold equivalent; 2.5% copper equivalent) from 28 meters
• 27 meters grading 0.83% copper, 1.5 g / t gold and 127 g / t silver (4.3 g / t gold equivalent; 3.2% copper equivalent) from 163 meters
• 54 meters grading 0.96% copper, 0.28 g / t gold and 51 g / t silver (2.3 g / t gold equivalent; 1.7% copper equivalent) from 201 meters
• 36 meters grading 1.83% copper, 0.12 g / t gold and 118 g / t silver (4.2 g / t gold equivalent; 3.1% copper equivalent) from 329 meters
• 72 meters with 3.47% copper, 0.71 g / t gold and 100 g / t silver (6.7 g / t gold equivalent; 5.0% copper equivalent) from 397 meters
In addition to prolonged high-grade intercepts in well 39 (the deepest well drilled to date), four shallower drill holes were also completed at SFdLA in December 2020, intersecting wide intervals of copper-gold mineralization. -silver in the rusty area of gold. Within these long intercepts, multiple high-grade intervals were found, such as Well 34, which recorded 9 meters grading 10.4 g / t gold and 124 g / t silver, including 4 meters grading 19.40 g / t gold and 212 g / t silver.
Dr. Rohan Wolfe, CEO of Turmalina Metals, stated: “SFDH-039 is a game changer for the San Francisco Project and is by far the most important well we have drilled to date in terms of size ramifications, as with a well we have demonstrated proof of the concept of the geological model and more than twice the known depth of mineralization in the SFdLA breccia pipe ”.
“Tourmaline breccia pipes can commonly extend more than 1 to 2 km deep, and it is encouraging to see that SFdLA appears to increase in size and grade with depth, up to 5% copper equivalent in the deepest interval, located 300 meters below the previous drilling in the eastern lobe ”.
“With all previous drilling confined between 200 and 240 meters from the surface, the intersecting high-grade mineralization in hole 39 remains fully open and we look forward to keeping the market informed of follow-up drill holes that will test this significant extension in a pipeline. of high law ”.
During the 2020 Phase 2 drilling program at SFdLA, 22 wells were drilled for a total of 4,653 meters. During 2020 an additional 9 wells were drilled totaling 2,768 meters to test four regional targets in the San Francisco project. Trials for four wells are still pending: three Phase 2 wells at SFdLA that tested the oxide zone and one well drilled in the Solita breccia.
