Turkish basketball star Alperen Sengun has declared himself ready to participate in the next NBA draft, the player’s agent told ESPN’s Jonathan Givony. His representative delivered the necessary documentation for him to be part of those selected.
The 18-year-old is expected to be a first-round pick. The center averages 19.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.3 steals per game for Besiktas in his country’s season.
Reports indicate that he is a player with good shooting mechanics and that he could be very effective from long distance, an aspect that favors him in a positive way with respect to the new style of the NBA.
He is expected to be part of the Turkish national team in the qualifying competition for the Olympics.
