Candidate for the presidency of Turkey and main rival of the head of state Recep Tayyip Erdogan Kemal Kilicdaroglu in Twitter accused the Russians of interfering in the elections.
He published his appeal in two languages: Turkish and Russian.
According to the politician, the Russians are behind “montages, conspiracies, deepfakes and recordings” that were allegedly exposed yesterday in Turkey.
“If you want to continue our friendship after May 15, keep your hands off the Turkish state. We still stand for cooperation and friendship,” the message says.
The results of the Turkish sociological service KONDA showed that Kilicdaroglu will tentatively win Erdogan by more than 5% of the vote.
The first round of parliamentary and presidential elections in Turkey will be held on May 14, 2023.
- On May 11, 2023, Turkish Ambassador to NATO in 2013-2018, Fatih Ceylan, said that Erdogan was on the verge of defeat in the elections.
