Turkish President Erdogan’s Successful and Fruitful Gulf Tour: Strengthening Foreign Relations and Economic Partnerships

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan described his tour last week to 3 Gulf countries as “very successful and fruitful.”

In a televised speech on Monday evening, Erdogan indicated that the tour he made with a large business delegation to the Gulf was a “very important step” in the field of foreign policy.

He added, “The visits we made to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE were very successful and fruitful.”

He pointed out that the five agreements that were signed with Saudi Arabia raised the existing cooperation between the two countries to a more advanced level, stressing that the visit witnessed the signing of “the largest export contract for defense and space products in our history in the field of the defense industry.”

He continued, “We decided to crown our excellent relations with Qatar with new partnerships.”

President Erdogan also indicated that the volume of trade exchange between Turkey and the UAE amounted to $10 billion, pointing out that the UAE is one of Turkey’s most important trade and economic partners in the region.

And he added, “We celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations by establishing the High-Level Strategic Council mechanism.”

Erdogan indicated that his visit to the UAE witnessed the signing of 13 agreements in various fields, with a total value of $50.7 billion.

He touched on gifting Turkish-made “TOG” cars to the leaders of the countries he visited, expressing his happiness that the Turkish car “TOG” had received the “full degree” from these leaders.

Erdogan made a Gulf tour that included Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE, accompanied by a large delegation of ministers, officials and businessmen, during the period between 17 and 19 July.
