Regarding the significance of the Turkish President’s heading to Cairo to meet his Egyptian counterpart, writer and political analyst Ercan Gurses told “Sky News Arabia” that “the significance is that the conditions for normalization that have been taking place since the beginning of 2020 between Turkey, Egypt and other Arab countries have fully matured, if we only take the relationship.” “Bilaterally, they aspire to raise the level of bilateral trade to more than $10 billion.”
He added: “I can expect that cooperation in the field of tourism, energy, and the exclusive maritime licensing agreement are on the agenda between the two countries.”
He continued: “The most important point here is that after 11 years of severing relations between two countries, there is an intention or hope to support a common policy in the region, because we see that every country in the region has a specific policy, so there will be no agreement, especially on the issue of Gaza, so after this visit we are waiting for the announcement.” “An agreement for a joint movement to peacefully resolve this problem.”
