Turkish Police Officers Injured in Collision at Kapakule Checkpoint on Bulgaria Border

11 people, including 10 Turkish police officers serving at the Kapakule checkpoint on the border with Bulgaria, were injured in a collision between two buses in northwestern Turkey.

According to Anatolia Agency, the incident happened on the highway between Kapakule and the city of Edirne, which is located 15 km from the border crossing. A bus with police collided with a bus with tourists.

The blow was of little force. The police-carrying bus only had a broken windshield and damage to the bumper and headlights.

All the injured were taken to hospital. Traffic on the highway, which was blocked due to the incident, has now been restored.
