Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu said he would consider traitors to anyone who supports a policy in defense of American interests in Turkey, according to information on the T-24 portal.
Soylu stressed that from this moment on, anyone who pursues policies aimed at the US, whether a party or an individual, will be declared a traitor to the motherland in Turkey. He made clear his displeasure with the United States’ goals in Turkey.
Before that, he had already accused the US of interfering in the Turkish election process. In the preliminary round of the presidential elections, the Minister of Internal Affairs said that US plans to interfere in the elections are intensifying and accused Washington of creating fake videos that forced candidate Muharrem Ince to withdraw from the presidential race, BTA reported.
The second round of presidential elections will be held in Turkey tomorrow. The second round will be between the current president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and the opposition candidate, Kemal Kulçdaroğlu. According to the results of the latest public opinion polls, Erdogan is expected to win. However, the opposition claims that Kulçdaroğlu will achieve victory.
