Turkish House will host the 10th anniversary exhibition of the Istanbul Photo Awards

The second exhibition of the 10th edition of the Istanbul Photo Awards, an international photography competition organized by Anadolu, opened on Tuesday in New York.

The presentation organized by Anadolu at the Turkey House hosted dignitaries such as Türkiye Consul General in New York Muhittin Ahmet Yazal and Türkiye’s Representative to the United Nations Ahmet Yildiz.

Serdar Karagöz, Chairman and CEO of Anadolu, highlighted the narrative power of photographs, stressing that the selected works document human suffering while building a collective memory.

He announced that the “Photo of the Year” award was given to the Palestinian photographer Mohammed Salem for his work “Palestinian woman holding the body of her nephew. “

“Our mission at Anadolu is to make these events visible, just as we did by presenting the genocide in Gaza to the world over the past year. for us,” said Serdar Karagöz.

Palestinian Ambassador to the United Nations Riyad Mansur expressed gratitude for the section of the show showing the genocide in Palestine, especially the pictures related to Gaza.

After the opening of the exhibition, Anadolu showed the documentary “Evidence”, which shows the war crimes committed by Israel in Gaza.

The exhibition includes photographs documenting world events of the past year, covering topics from humanitarian crises to sporting events.

The exhibition will be open to visitors from November 7 to 12 at the Blue Gallery on 46th Street in Manhattan.

This year, more than 20,000 photos were submitted to the Istanbul Photo Awards in the categories of news, sports, environment, photography and daily life.

In total, 32 designers were awarded in 10 categories.

The competition is organized with the support of the operator Turkcell, with the support of Sony, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and Turkish Airlines (THY).
