Turkish Government Raises Fuel Tax: Impact on Prices in Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir

The Turkish government has raised the special use tax on fuel products.

According to the new decision, which was published in the Official Gazette, the tax on a liter of petrol was raised from 2.52 pounds to 7.52 pounds, and the tax on a liter of diesel was raised from 2.05 pounds to 7.05 pounds.

This measure comes as part of the government’s efforts to increase public revenues and support vital sectors in the country.

This increase is expected to contribute to generating additional revenues for the state and financing projects and public services.

Ankara

The price of a liter of gasoline: 34.53 pounds
The price of a liter of diesel: 32.82 pounds

Istanbul

The price of a liter of gasoline: 33.97 pounds
The price of a liter of diesel: 32.26 pounds

Izmir

The price of a liter of petrol: 34.54 pounds
The price of a liter of diesel: 32.93 pounds.
