Turkish Dutch voters brawl at RAI in Amsterdam as police intervene

It is “very restless” on Sunday evening in and around the RAI in Amsterdam South. The police are present with several units. On social media you can see that a fight is going on in the event hall. Turkish Dutch people could still vote this day for the elections in Turkey.

The police intervened during an altercation between several men at the voting location. Further information has not yet been released.

Last week there was also a brawl between a number of voters in the RAI. In addition to Amsterdam, there were also voting locations in The Hague, Deventer and Eindhoven. Sunday was the last day on which Turkish Dutch people could vote.

The election battle is mainly between current president Recep Tayyip Erdogan and opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu.
