Turkish army attacks on six villages in northeastern Syria’s Hasaka province left nine wounded and colossal property losses, the Athr Press news portal reported on Saturday.
The Turkish armed forces used artillery shelling on the towns of Al-Abosh, Al-Agibish, Al-Tawilah, Um al-Kaif, al Kozalieh and Um Al-Laban, in response to a rocket barrage by the militia local Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) that Ankara describes as terrorist, the outlet reported.
The day before, a similar bombardment with artillery and drones by Turkish soldiers targeted several towns in the northern provinces of Hasakeh and Aleppo.
The continuous Turkish military actions against communities surrounding the areas under the control of its military and the militias it sponsors in northern Syria caused great material losses and the displacement of thousands of civilians.
Since 2018, the Turkish military has controlled large areas in the provinces of Idlib, Aleppo, Raqqa and Hasaka, and this presence was condemned by Damascus and described as an occupation that violates International Law.
