Turkish Aerospace Industry’s ANKA-3 UAV Successfully Completes First Flight

The ANKA-3 unmanned aerial vehicle, developed by the Turkish company TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industry), successfully completed its first flight today, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced, quoted by BTA.

We hope that our aircraft, with its advanced technology, design and performance, will strengthen our defense capabilities“, Erdogan wrote on the “X” social network.

ANKA-3 is a heavy attack drone. According to specialized military publications, its development began in February 2022, but was kept secret until the end of last year.

The device was created according to the “flying wing” scheme, using “stealth” technology with low radar visibility. This makes the drone invisible to radar stations.

ANKA-3 is equipped with a turbojet engine, the maximum flight height is defined as 12 km, the time of staying in the air is 10 hours, its load capacity is 1200 kg, and the maximum speed it develops is over 800 km/h.

ANKA series UAVs have been mass produced in Turkey since 2017.
